GEV Offshore Engineering Department have been involved in all the stages of the provision of new Drilling Structures, Land rigs, Substructures, and Drilling Equipment Sets based in all locations and environments worldwide.
The development of drilling equipment over the span of time, routine maintenance requirements and overall change of operating - loading parameters have resulted in modifications to each of the above-mentioned structures at some stage in its existence. Our Engineering department have been involved in the Initial design concepts for upgraded equipment, Increase in operating parameters, Design Modifcations, Fabrication, Installation and Commissioning of these relevant modifications and upgrades

Site Surveys
Our survey personnel have gained extensive experience over the years to allow GEV Offshore to offer our clients a full and comprehensive survey – inspection report. Our reports will identify the areas of concern and also allow our engineer to develop a full reactivation schedule. The schedule will identify the areas and also describe the corrective actions to bring the necessary structure back to within the design and operating parameters as specified within the relevant API criteria.
It is often found that with older structures that the original drawings, operating and loading parameters are no longer available, therefore our Site engineers and inspection personnel will gather the required information to allow the GEV engineering department to undertake a full analysis. The information gathered is based around the following criteria as a minimum.
Overall Geometry
Mast Hook Load, Rotary Load, Setback Load
Crown Arrangement,
Sheave quantity, size, groove, shaft etc.
All Member Sizes & Lengths (Mast, A Frames & Substructure)
All Padeyes & Pin Details
All Stiffener locations and sizes
Location and size of Raising Sheaves, Lines, Padeyes, equalizer unit etc.
All Equipment Details such as rotary, Drawworks, hook, swivel, etc.

GEV Offshore are also able to offer a full survey carried out using a total station. This data can be used onsite to review the general structural geometry. The raw data can be downloaded to our engineering department for direct input for analysis.
General Engineering and Design
GEV Offshore are also able to offer a full design and draughting service for your projects. We can develop new general arrangement drawings of your structures in either 2D or 3D. We can develop the relevant fabrication drawings for issue to local fabricators or a specified fabricator of client’s choice.
